The House that James Built

Here's a little update on our puppy Boomer. He's growing up! He weighs 15 lbs now and is 25 inches from nose to bum. In just the 2 months we've had him he's gained almost 10 lbs! He has started chewing on stuff too - no more dryer tubes though! His newest love has been cardboard boxes. He will shred them...but he does love his rope and his rubber squeaker toys. He'll swallow the rope strings though much to my dismay. He also LOVES his cookies! And he's not ashamed to take bribes. You got a treat, he'll do what ever you want (most of the time). He enjoys the outdoors and the back yard is great for him to run around in.

Lately Boomer hasn't done so well in the laundry room when we've left him there on days we work. We've come home to quite the mess. So, we started leaving him outside. The dreaded triple-digit weather is still at bay so we've been alright with him outside. However, even in our spring time weather it can be kind of chilly at night and it has rained on occasion so James decided to build a dog house for Boomer.

He set up shop in the garage...

He got to use his skill saw

Although I think he might need to learn the "skill" part better...just sayin...

...how ironic I'm wearing my favorite work shirt...

Boomer was a good example and wore his safety equipment while around the tools

He even got to help James over see the project. Here he's reviewing the plans...

...and making sure things are level...

James got the okay to finish it up...

...and we're good to go now!

Ta-da!

I think he likes it! He looks so little inside of it.
(To get him to take this picture I had to put treats in the house...the little stinker...)

I also found this makes a good punishment house... :)

Uh oh! Who's in the dog house now!

Great job James!

Wow, Boomer has gotten big. What happened to the tiny little puppy I knew?! Awesome house! Now you just need to paint it!!

Uh, 'dreaded' triple digits? Don't tell Sterling that. I'm looking forward to it if we get to move down there.
