James and I recently signed papers to start building a home!! We're so super stoked! The ground breaking should be sometime the beginning of next week. It was supposed to be this week but monsoons made the ground too wet. But James and I wanted to take you through the model of the home that we decided on. This is just the model so please pretend there are white walls, lighter cabinets, and no special knobs and whistles :) However it is fun to imagine that I could one day have a home looking like this model (After James and Melony Jr. have grown up and moved out heeheehee).

This is the outside of the home. We'll have almost the same color of paint on the outside.

The large and spacious...kitchen. It's an island with a bar in the middle and the pantry is huge! There's room for the beginnings of a food storage :)

Here's the living room. The wall will not be built in like that in our home but I would love for it to be someday :)

This is the view from the table to the front door. You can see the formal living room through it.

We'll head up stairs in a minute...you can see where the washer and dryer will go - the garage entrance is that way too. A den, a guest bathroom, and under the stairs storage are this way. The den could be the optional 4th bedroom but we opted to keep it a den. James can have his "man cave."

Storage under the stairs

The den

The spare bathroom - if we turned the den into a bedroom, we'd lose this linen closet in the bathroom and a tub would be added.

This is the view as you head up the stairs. I'm standing at the entrance of the master bedroom. But walking up the stairs you can get a great shot of the formal dining room. In our home, the stair railing will be a pony wall instead.

Looking down the stairs

The little loft as you reach the top - a nice little spot to read a book :)

First guest room - big enough for a queen bed and a modest sized dresser.

The bathroom upstairs

Guest room #2. I think this is for the girls because the closet is a walk in and it's a pretty decent size. A girls gotta put her shoes somewhere!

Guest room 2's closet

Master bedroom! Fits a king with two very large end tables. Hey uh, Kevin...think we can build some matching end tables for the dresser?? :)

Master bath leading to the master bedroom closet. It's a nice closet.

We get a garden tub and a stand up shower

It'll just a regular shower though - no fancy tile :)

This is our lot!! It's got dirt on it! That means the lot has been taken :) We have no neighbors behind us and if you face the lot (the direction you're seeing now), we have one neighbor to our left and a cactus to our right. We've got a wash between us and the house next to us on the right so we get some space between us. As you can see below we are just so excited!!! Thank you for joining us on our tour. We hope to be done by the middle of November so that I can keep my invite for Thanksgiving open :) I'm serious - I'd love to host Turkey day at our house! Love to all!
