How do you contain a week of FUN in just one blog post? Well, the only solution I could find was to put all the pictures I pretty much had into one post :)
For July 4th, James and I were found in northern Utah. We went and spent a week at the cabin at Bear Lake with his side of the family. We were so excited for this trip! Even Boomer was excited because he got to come!
The drive was pretty uneventful. It was 14 hours but it wasn't terrible. We made frequent stops for gas and such, and even had a picnic lunch in Kanab on the church grounds. It was a nice day outside so we wanted to take advantage of it. Boomer did FANTASTIC in the car. No car sickness or accidents. He hardly made a peep!
We arrived at the Hall home late Saturday (July 2nd) evening. Our bums were sore and it was nice to be home! And the weather felt AMAZING. Just driving through Utah, especially when we passed BYU, just made me want to pack outta AZ and back into UT. I missed it. We went to church with Debra, Kevin snuck in in the second hour :) James and I couldn't believe how QUIET it was in that ward! We're used to the 70+ (and that's not a joke or exaggeration) kids that our in our ward making themselves known. But, no, this ward was sooo quiet. I almost fell asleep!
We decided to head up to the cabin Sunday night. Myk and Chalyse were there with their family and we played with them and celebrated Myk's birthday. A whoppin __ years old! He's OLD now so I don't need to tell his age :)
Kevin and Debra had to work on Tuesday as did Myk so they all left Monday night. James, Boomer and I had the cabin to ourselves. It was so quiet I took a nap that ended up being 3 hours long! I woke up at 9pm and the sun was barely setting! That was weird. We watched fireworks in Garden City and across the lake from the Cabin balcony but I couldn't stay outside very long because it was COLD. Yea, we were wearing hoodies in July! Crazy!
Tuesday James and I decided to go down to town and do some shopping and also to get our burger and shake from LaBeau's - oh my that was SO good! James then asked if I wanted to go see Bloomington Lake. That sounded like a good idea so we headed up. It was a long winding road up and I thought we'd never get there. Well, turns out we didn't. This is why:
The road was completely snowed over! The lake was still a good mile away too! So we played "Christmas in July" by running barefoot in the snow :) That did NOT last long!
Then we built a little snow woman :)
Tuesday night we went and saw "Who Shot Juanito Bandito" at the Pickleville Playhouse. I don't remember laughing that hard in a LONG time! It was so funny!
Wednesday we bummed around reading waiting for the rest of the family to arrive at the cabin. When we found out they were going to be later than expected, we went on a four-wheeling trip with Boomer! He LOVED it! We put his leash on then wrapped it around my back so that I could have both my hands free. That also allowed Boomer some freedom too. He would stand on the side of the four-wheeler and let his face take the wind. He was so funny to watch. I think I might have enjoyed his reactions more than the actual ride!
Hooray! The family finally started to arrive! The first ones to get to the cabin were the Beasley's. The Andersen's next, and then late Thursday evening, both Halls (Myk & Gavin's families). Here's some pictures of just having fun at the cabin.

We were glad to get a chance to have Grandma and Grandpa Boehme come to visit. Always a treat to see them.

And the crowning event of the week: The Hall In the Loop Family Run!
Myk and Chalyse are the wonderful masterminds of said run. They participated in a similar kind of run on a much larger scale and they thought it would be fun to try as a family. They were right - it was FUN! We ran the Sweetwater Loop down and up the mountain the cabin is on. Each person had their own designated stretch. We were divided into teams which ended up putting all the siblings that live outside of Utah on one team (Beasley, Andersen and James Hall family), and the rest of the family (Myk & Gavin Hall families and Kevin and Debra) on the other. We thought that was funny :) It ended up being a little over 7 miles total that the families would run.

We've also all got our running bibs on with our custom made names and numbers. Even Boomer got one. His said "Chacho" and "#25". James' number was pi (what a goober!).

To end our week we left the cabin to see Cars 2 in Logan, had a weenie roast and had family pictures taken. What a fun fun fun fun week! I didn't want to come back to Tucson. But alas, we did.
While up at the cabin, I brought a little bit a Tucson to the mountains. This room will be complete once I finish my quilt! It's going to look AWESOME!
And, last but not least, our very own little Boomer graduated from his Beginner's Education class at Petsmart.
I'm so proud!
