Night Out at Home

James and I went to the Tucson Home Show just to see the sites and for fun. We thought maybe we'd find some more ideas for our home. We put our names in a few drawings, such as to win a vacation for spending an hour and a half in a time-share information meeting, to win a free Kirby vacuum and also to win what is called a Salad-Master.

Well, we got the vacation, a three day, two night stay at the London Bridge Resort in Lake Havasu. So we're excited about that. We also...didn't win the Kirby...but we won a free kirby presentation and two rooms shampooed! That actually was good timing because that was when we had the dog. The down-side to that was that the guy was here for 3 and a 1/2 hours!! It was a pretty neat vacuum though. But oh man I was glad when it was over.

Last but not least, we didn't win the Salad-Master either but we won an evening with one of the Chefs of Salad-Master fixing us a meal in the Salad-Master dinner pan set! It was really fun. We invited our good friends Jeff and Amy Jenkins and enjoyed learning about how these pans work. Its a long story but just know that they're pretty much awesome. The one downside, and its just a little thing, is that they're really expensive. Not much, just $2100 for 3 pans....not too bad...a wee bit out of our budget though.

The meal that we had was really tastey too! It was all a whoppin 400 calories and 10 grams of fat. And that is all because of the pans.

I hope that the pictures are enjoyed. It'll not come near to the enjoyment we had that night though :)

This is Chef David. He was really nice and really funny!

Listening intently to the presentation...

This is Mister Bill, he is a pile of salt. Chef David used Mister Bill as an example of how the pans cook. The pans cook almost like a vacuum and so the salt, when the veggies were done cooking, was hard as a rock. None of it had gotten on the veggies and they tasted wonderful!

James is stirring our cake mix. It was an interesting cake. The chef put zuccini and squash and raisins in a yellow cake mix and cooked it right on the stove!

This skillet had the oil inside so that you don't have to put the meat directly in the oil. It's healthier that way.

The tastey cake mix :)

Jeff masterfully tossing our salad.

Showing off the end result :)

Ready to eat!!
We all ate a full serving each with a little bit of extra on 2 potatos, 2 carrots, half a box of cake mix, half an onion, half a head of cabbage and 2 small packages of peas and corn! It was delicious!
